Many fundraising activities are conducted throughout the school year. Fundraising is essential so that Gray School can continue to provide our students with rich learning experiences and resource the school with new equipment.
Fundraising is primarily conducted by the School Council, however the Student Representative Council (SRC) and individual classes also organise special fundraising events.
The School Council’s fundraising events are targeted around a common goal agreed upon by the parents and teachers that will benefit the school as a whole.
The SRC’s fundraising goals are decided upon by the student body and also benefit the school as a whole.
Individual classes may fundraise for a specific goal such as an excursion or class event.
In 2012 the school was enormously lucky to receive a grant from NRETAS to purchase a caged trailer to assist the school with collecting containers under the Cash for Containers initiative. Within our first month the school raised approximately $300. Mr Mark (our Caretaker) set up a great system for storing the containers and we have some fantastic students who clean and sort the containers so they are ready for Mr Mark to deliver to the Environbank and collect the cash.
If you have any GREAT fundraising ideas, we’d LOVE to hear from you!
