Palmerston Child and Family Centre

About Us
The Palmerston Child and Family Centre (CFC) is an Indigenous focused centre available to all children and families of the Palmerston area. It will combine government and non-government partners to holistically support families to raise happy, healthy and strong children. We will endeavour to apply a model of partnerships in a locally responsive, strength based, integrated service where children, families and community come first.

The CFC has the opportunity to deliver a range of services and programs under the broad headings of early childhood education, health services, family wellbeing, as well as adult education and capacity building.

The centre is managed by Gray Primary School and established the first of many community partnerships with Child Australia. Child Australia provide quality early childhood education and care in a 50 place early learning centre (ELC) for children and their family.

Our Leadership Team
Child and Family Centre Manager - Jackie Bradshaw; Indigenous Coordinator - Leticha Russell; and Early Learning Centre Director - Kierra Wilson.

This combines CFC staff from the Department of Education and staff from Child Australia. Together with our advisory group we will guide the direction of the CFC.

Palmerston Child and Family Early Learning Centre (ELC) is an early childhood education and care service catering for children 0–5 years and provides a play-based program responsive to the individual needs of children and families. Within our service we offer high quality care for the children in our community, we want to create an environment where children of all ages, genders, cultures and backgrounds feel safe, secure, happy and loved. We will encourage children to develop by hands on experience where educators guide and ‘play’ becomes an education in itself. We will foster individual development by planning programs that are the result of individual observations and child initiated needs and interests.

We believe that as Early Childhood professionals, we play a vital role in the provision of quality care and education and make a valuable contribution to the lives of children. We act as a link between children, families, colleagues and the wider community, advocating for all children and promoting the importance of Early Childhood Education for LIFE LONG LEARNING. We believe that developing environments and facilitating relationships with children which support, empower and inspire their quest for knowledge is at the essence of our role.
